Was cleaning out my closet on a cold winter weekend and opened a box I hadn’t seen the contents in years.
Inside were my large, one of kind, monotypes I had created in around 1986-87.
There was a print workshop on Spring and West Broadway where I spent numerous hours.
The process is involes applying oil paint to hard shaped board. Then it goes through a hand press. Each image is one-up.

The output has many surprises because you never know how the oil paint will spread on the paper.
Was interesting to remember I exhibited these works at the Drawing Center in Soho, a 3 person show at the Newark Museum and received an NEA Grant.
Was such a mind trip going back and remembering that time in NY.
